I somehow managed to solve the ASA firewall problem by changing the kernel cmd line to -"auto console=ttyS0,9600 bigphysarea=16384 ide1=noprobe" ,i.e, obviously after specifying the path to initrd and kernel files. I've never had problems consoling into the routers though. I used Teraterm and it worked well for me, however I could just console once into the hosts when the microcore image is decompressed and otherwise it would simply say "Connection Refused". I did a lot of research on the same and trust me the localhost binding didn't do me any good. I've had similar issues where my putty console closes after 2 seconds.

In windows static DNS entrys is stored in following text file: ( i checked by pinging, ) you see that localhost will get resolved to a ipv6 sort of thing.
#TERATERM IPV6 PC#
P.S i just done another check to see why it wont accept localhost but 127.0.0.1, and on my pc localhost is looking up my ipv6 ip, which i forgot to disable on my wireless, and 127.0.0.1 is looking up my ipv4 which im using now. Im using Windows Vista, but it should work for any other windows OS i guess. worked for me, but close any other console as it wont abviously open 2 or more at the same time, 1 for each router. ( C:\Program Files\Putty\putty.exe is my putty directory, you can put it any where i guess )Īnd for some strainge reasons my pc is getting localhost and 127.0.0.1 not the same, which should be.Īnd %h is the host ( which will use localhost ) and not 127.0.0.1 ( we want 127.0.0.1 )Ĭ:\Program Files\Putty\putty.exe -telnet 127.0.0.1 %pĪnd you are good to go. hey :P i got to make it work and be a happy user ) lolĪnyway a very simple idea kicked in my head, when i looked at the 'Terminal Command'Ĭ:\Program Files\Putty\putty.exe -telnet %h %p
